Part One:
      At our regular online store we are pleased to accept MasterCard and Visa on any purchase, online or off. No purchase too small. This shopping cart has been in use now for more than a year. If you are familiar with PalPal our new PalPal store also accepts Discover and American Express.
      Important: To use the PayPal shopping cart you must have or be willing to obtain a FREE PayPal account. If a new account we suggest you sign up before you shop. To learn more about PayPal and/or obtain your free account visit the PayPal site.
      Now, if you anticipate your purchase will be $25.00 or more we are done. You can skip the rest. If your purchase will be less than $25.00 please read Part Two.

      Part Two:
      Orders less than twenty-five (25) dollars excluding shipping charges and/or taxes, as applicable, will be billed a three (3) dollar processing fee.
      The statement in Part One, "No purchase too small", is a bit of a misnomer. The statement is true in that we will accept credit card payment for a purchase in any amount. We do this in the main to support A.A. groups, our primary reason for starting this business in the first place (see About Us, Why Buy From Us?), because the truth is there are credit card fees associated with each transaction and for amounts less than $25.00 the fees can amount to as much or more than the profit. At the same time we realize groups cannot always afford to buy a large quantity of medallions at one time.

      It is important to note that we do not penalize customers for paying with a credit card nor have we offset the cost by raising prices. To the contrary we work hard to keep our prices low. But in order to do this and not require a minimum purchase there must be some give and take. Without some middle ground we all lose; us, our business, and our loyal customers a reliable source for birthday chips at reasonable prices.

      This was the dilemma we faced when we first started accepting credit cards. It was never a question of "do we" or "don't we", in todays marketplace the ability to accept credit cards is essential, and we knew there was a price to pay.
       Rather than "hide" the credit card fees by increasing prices or to require a minimum purchase in order to pay with a credit card, the solution for us was to share the cost across the board. This is accomplished by attempting to insure that for each credit card sale processed we more or less break even on the transaction fees. We do this by absorbing the transaction fee on orders of $25.00 or more while the processing fee on orders less than $25.00 helps make up the difference.

      The above stated concerns form the basis for our Credit Card Policy, which is to accept credit card payment on any purchase, large or small. However, orders less than $25.00 excluding shipping charges and/or taxes, as applicable, will be billed a three (3) dollar processing fee. In this way we are able to accept credit card purchases in any amount.

      Note: Processing fee applies to credit card orders ONLY.
